Always a pleasure in the run-up to the festive season, Christmas shopping can be simply magical in Paris. Exquisitely designed shop display windows, Christmas markets with roast chestnuts and mulled wine, plus illuminations; they all combine to make shopping a special experience. Whether you prefer them to be traditional, ethical, trendy, or exotic, you’ll find dozens of different Christmas markets sprinkled throughout the capital during December. Among our favourites are, of course, those of the Tuileries and Halles, for the diversity of the stalls and the traditional and magical spirit they embody. But we also have a great fondness for the Fééries d'Auteuil where, in a spirit of solidarity and for a good cause, the participants invite you to share their workshops and enjoy the wealth of entertainment, shows and concerts.

Department stores have become an essential festive season tradition for Parisians. With their elegant and inventive decorations and especially their stunningly conceived and designed display windows, they offer a Christmas shopping experience bursting with light and magic. This year the Galeries Lafayette have even installed an ice rink on their rooftop so you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the illuminated city while skating. We would also like to remind you that your C.O.Q. Hotel is very close to the large Italie Deux mall and its 130 shops and restaurants. Do your Christmas shopping while staying warm!
